The Government of Canada is proposing an assistance program of up to 10,000 $ to help eligible homeowners switch from an oil heating system to an electric heat pump designed for cold climates.
This grant covers not only the purchase and installation of the heat pump, but also the associated costs, such as the safe removal of the oil tank, the installation of additional electric heating, or the replacement of oil-fired equipment, such as a water heater.
This program is specifically designed for low- and middle-income Canadian households that still use oil as their main source of heating.
